Contrary to what most people might think, there is still a place for traditional classroom training. Classroom training (or Instructor Led Training, as it is more formally known) can be effective provided that it establishes context, provides ample opportunities for feedback, and allows learners one on one or small group contact with instructors and other learners. But what happens when learners can't get to a classroom or when an organization's learners are strewn across multiple continents and time zones? This is where virtual learning and various asynchronous (i.e. not in real time) delivery channels prove invaluable. During my career, I have spent thousands of class
hours in front of learners delivering traditional Instructor Led Training (ILT). I have also spent thousands of hours leveraging Blended Learning solutions that fused ILT with Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI). That said, I firmly believe that the most impactful learning happens when training extends beyond the classroom and embraces Social Learning and Micro-learning strategies that provide self-paced, self-directed learning experiences. This is the future of learning, and I can help your company get there!
